MANUEL-TURIZO
Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His work has led to major international breakthroughs into the Latin pop scene. Una Lady Como Tu, the hit song from 2016 received the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for the Best Song. His debut album was a long-player ADN for Sony's Medellin-based subsidiary La Industria Inc. The album reached the top of the charts at number eight in the Top Latin Albums charts. In the following year, he joined Ozuna for his Top Five smash Vaina Loca. He also collaborated alongside Noriel to record Mala Influencia in 2020 and later that year, came out with his second album, the charting Dopamina. In 2021, he performed in a duo with TINI for her stream single Maldita Foto. The hit song La Bachata from 2000 was published in 2023. Turizo's mother and brother also played instruments when he was born. Interviews with him have described playing music as an obligation. When he was a kid, he began learning how to play the ukulele, saxophone as well as piano. Though his original goal was to be a vet, his brother Julian convinced to him take singing lessons from a Cuban.
